Many people overeat or eat the wrong foods too often because they are making a decision based on emotion. Making food choices when stressed, when rushed, when sad or even when joyful. In some cases, people consume food without much thought at all. Hypnotherapy creates new habits of behaviour and puts us into our rational brain where we can make decisions based on intellect and positive choice.
When in the rational brain, you make the right decision when it comes to food. You think about why you’re eating, how you want to feel whilst you’re eating and after you have eaten. You may choose foods that offer nourishment, that keep you fuller for longer, that give you energy or purely that taste good.
The common denominator is choice. You make a choice based on a sensible assessment with a rational mindset.
Our eating can also be habitual. Finishing our plates because we have grown up being taught not to waste, believing that pudding must always come after our evening meal.
Hypnotherapy helps us to change our thoughts through re-wiring the brain and putting us back in control. We then make choices based on rational thinking.
